Gingerbread Week

Last week, along with our regular curriculum, we had a gingerbread themed week.  I love gingerbread and it is a fun Christmas theme.  We read gingerbread books, played a game and made a craft all about gingerbread!  This was a great sensory experience for the kids as well since we tasted gingerbread cookies and smelled it as we mixed ginger into our paint when we painted the paper gingerbread men.

This was a great book!  The Gingerbread Pirates have an encounter with Santa and have their dreams come true.  It has a Pinocchio like ending!

“Run, run as fast as you can!  You can’t catch me, I’m the gingerbread man!”  This is the classic tale of the gingerbread man.
