We learned all about the letter Jj this week. We had so much fun reading stories, making crafts and enjoying a special snack too!
J is for Jam
I am a strawberry
Growing on the ground.
If you want some jam,
Mash me around.
We read “The Giant Jam Sandwich” by John Vernon Lord. This is a fun rhyming story about how a village is invaded by wasps and the villagers come up with a brilliant idea to get rid of them….trap them in a giant jam sandwich!
We made our own paper jam sandwiches to go along with the story. We painted the bread cut outs red and made it look like strawberry jam.
J is for Jeep
We also read “Sheep in a Jeep” by Nancy Shaw. This is such a silly story about Sheep having too much fun in a red jeep!
We made hand print sheep with cotton ball wool to go with our story.
I hung our art work in the hall way to show off the book we read and the craft that goes with it.
I changed the Easter bulletin board to a rainy spring time scene. Spring has sprung in our classroom!
