Orange you glad I didn’t say Orange!

This week we are reviewing all of the letters that we have learned so far, A-H.  We are making a review book with the children that they will take home on Friday.  We are also reviewing colors along with the letters and yesterday was an orange day.  We read “The Crayon Box That Talked” by Shane De Rolf, a story about a crayon box full of crayons who cannot get along, but then realize that they need each other to create beautiful pictures.  We  played Once Upon a Pea, a color game with the felt board,  learned an orange song and made paper bag pumpkins.

I Love Orange

(to the tune of Three Blind Mice)

I love orange, I love orange,

It’s so bright, it’s so bright,

I love orange pumpkins that grow in the fall,

I love orange goldfish so cute and so small.

I love my great big orange beach ball,

I love orange!

We played the felt board game Once Upon a Pea, the children closed their eyes, I hid the pea under one of the colored mattresses, then I chose a child to come up and pick where they thought the pea was hidden. This was a fun color review game!
