Home made Pop Tarts, how can you resist? This recipe I had seen all over the internet and had to try it! These are super easy and probably a little bit healthier too. I was at Super Target and they did not have the pie crust I was looking for, so I substitued Puff Pastry, so I guess I made homade Toaster Strudels! This was equally yummy and flaky.
Home made Pop Tarts:
frozen pie crust or puff pastry
your favorite jam or preserves
Let pie crust thaw, then cut into rectangles. Add a scoop of preserves to the middle and top with another rectangle. Crimp the edges with a fork. Lay them onto a baking sheet sprayed with cooking spray. Bake at 425 for 15-20 min. or until golden brown. Let cool. To prepare the glaze, mix 1/4 c. powdered sugar and 2 tbs. milk and mix well. Then drizzle cooled pop tarts with the glaze and shake festive sprinkles on top! These were a big hit this morning!
