Pumpkins, pumpkins, everywhere!

This week we are also starting a pumpkin theme!  Today we read “It’s Pumpkin Time” by Zoe Hall.  This is a wonderful book that shows the cycle of the pumpkin growing from seed to pumpkin and then how pumpkins are used through out the fall season.  We sang a really cute pumpkin song and the children had their own paper pumpkin that they used along with the song. Then we reviewed the book using a worksheet that illustrated the growing cycle of the pumpkin and the children colored it.

The Pumpkins Are Here

(to the tune of “The Farmer in the Dell”)

The pumpkins are here, the pumpkins are there,

The pumpkins, the pumpkins are everywhere.

The pumpkins are up; the pumpkins are down.

The pumpkins, the pumpkins are all around.

The pumpkins are in; the pumpkins are out.

The pumpkins, the pumpkins are all about.

The pumpkins are low, the pumpkins are high.

The pumpkins, the pumpkins all say “Good Bye”
