This week we learned all about the letter Qq. We learned the sound and the shape it makes. This was a tricky letter to think of activities and crafts for!
With our hands we made this quilt,
We made each special part,
To show you the friendship that we share,
Warms each little heart.
Sing With Me
(to the tune of “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star”)
Q is for queen with a crown on her head,
Q is for quilt that covers my bed.
Q is for questions I like asking.
Q is for ducklings quack, quack, quacking.
Q is for quarter and quick and quill
I like Q and I always will.
We read “The Quilt Story” by Tomie dePaola. This book tells the story of a hand made quilt and the journey it takes of how it is handed down through out the years.
We made a class quilt to hang in the hallway. Each child made a hand print on a square and then I arranged them on the wall.
